The station opened in 1994 and is located next to the London Regatta Centre and Royal Albert Dock. The platforms are on an elevated section of track, from the platform there is a good view of
London City Airport though this is on the opposite side of the dock (and has its
own station anyway).
Like most DLR stations Royal Albert is unmanned and rather austere with little facilities apart from a ticket machine though both platforms have lift access.
